Rival Studios, an online startup, is currently creating its first MMO called Touchdown Wars. Co-founders, Steve Skura and Josh Lombard, who are strategy game enthusiasts themselves, explain they want to fill the empty space that currently exists in American football MMO by developing a game that combines the interactive, virtual competition aspects of fantasy football with the multiplayer, social networking aspects of Mafia Wars.
In short, future Touchdown Wars gamers will be able to create their own players, teams, stadiums and/or leagues and compete against friends or random matches. Gamers can be involved in every aspect of the player creation including player physical attributes, positions, skill levels, etc. Likewise, gamers who want to create franchises can pick team names, design stadiums, manage coaches and players as well as manage salary caps and develop game strategies. Best part is a full season lasts about a month, which means future addicts can play virtually year-round!
