Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls BETA impressions

With Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls being upon us soon with a release date of March 25, 2014 the beta was released late last year and I have been playing it quite a bit and am ready to say one thing for sure.

Reaper of Souls is a step in the right direction!

With many additions with things like:

Level 70 cap (Past was 60)
New Class: Crusader (Mid-ranged fighter)
New Act: Act V: Westmarch
Loot 2.0
and quite a bit more!

Now the main draws I’ve listed and well are all pretty great. With the new level cap you have plain more content as there is 10 extra levels but not only is there 10 extra levels there is also now a LOT more paragon levels than previously (100). It take you forever to max out the paragon bonuses easily 1000+ hours on doing that!

The Crusader is a bit of an interesting class as a Mid-ranged class it finds itself in a strange place. It can be a curse and a blessing. You have the option to go ranged and then you have can also be melee, however you don’t gain the melee damage reduction bonus that a Barbarian or Monk would. However you have plenty to stay alive it is a great fun class with an all around toolkit. It needs some changes here and there (I’m looking at you Phalanx being OP) and quite a few abilities I would say need a buff. However it ends up being a well designed class with many homages to the Diablo 2 Paladin such as Blessed Hammer and Fist of Heavens.

Westmarch is well to say the least… great! It has some great corridor areas and wide open spaces. The events in every area of the act is simply improved and more fun that any in every other act. With returning characters like Captain Haile and features some great back-story missions with your followers that give you some information into their past such as revealing who the prophet of the enchantress really was… is?

Among many other different things Reaper of Souls is really in my opinion improving Diablo 3. Adds more end game content and more things to do! I would easily say it’s worth $39.99 price tag attached to it already and perhaps $59.99 for the collectors edition!

See you guys in Sanctuary!!
