Microsoft confirm E3 2015 plans for Xbox

With the biggest gaming convention of the year just a month away, Microsoft have announced their Xbox plans to add to the ever-growing schedule for this year’s E3.

Via Xbox Wire, Xbox kicks off their E3 showcase with the Xbox E3 2015 Briefing taking place at the usual time of 9:30am PDT (12:30pm EDT/5:30pm BST) on Monday, June 15th. Microsoft promises that the briefing will debut “in-depth looks at previous-unannounced games” as well as new trailers for announced games coming later in the year and beyond. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated last month that they hope for the briefing to focus on first-party titles more than previous showcases, with “new exclusive IP” expected to appear. Titles like Halo 5, Tomb Raider and Forza Motorsport 6 are very likely to appear, although Microsoft states that due to the 90-minutes constraints, they’re also “saving a lot of exciting reveals” for Gamescom which takes place in August. The Xbox briefing will be live-streamed to the world on Xbox.com and Xbox Live (via the Events Player) via your PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, or Windows Phone. If you’re in the US or Canada, you can also watch the action unfold live on Spike TV.

They will also be hosting other events throughout the week. First of all, on the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson and Acey Bongos will host a one-hour live show at 4pm PDT (7pm EDT/12am BST). Dubbed Xbox Daily: LIVE @ E3, the returning show will feature news, exclusive announcements, trailer reveals, demos, and interviews, and can be watched live on Xbox.com and Xbox Live. Guests confirmed so far include Head of Xbox Phil Spencer, 343 Industries, Turn 10 Studios, and Crystal Dynamics. Fans watching on Xbox One will be treated to some ‘interactive experiences’, which in the past have included opinion polls and choosing which game to be featured next on the stream.

If you’re local to LA, you’ll be able to participate in the Xbox FanFest which takes place from the Sunday right through to Thursday. 500 lucky fans will be able to win a ticket which includes the following:

  • Entry into the Xbox E3 2015 Briefing at 9:30 a.m. PDT on Monday, June 15, at the Galen Center in downtown Los Angeles.
  • Invite to the exclusive Xbox FanFest Party on Monday afternoon, June 15, where fans will get to play the best exclusives and biggest blockbuster games this holiday and beyond.
  • VIP access to the Xbox esports Celebrity Challenge and Twitch Party sponsored by Xbox.
  • Meet-and-greet with some of the industry’s top developers, leaders and influencers.
