Next Call of Duty Snapchat Tease #2 – ‘Let your thoughts drift…’

News on the next Call of Duty title, which is being developed by Treyarch and due out later this year, has heated up in the last 24 hours. Since it appeared that a viral marketing campaign was about to begin late yesterday, we’ve not only received one teaser but the second has now been released via the Call of Duty Snapchat account!

Teaser #2 shows us a bit more than the first one. Still commentated over by the man from the first teaser, who we predict is a physiatrist of some sort, the footage is more grainy and difficult to fully make out. However, it again includes a forest and lake setting, but more interesting this time around is the inclusion of soldiers and a helicopter. As with most viral campaigns, the footage is likely real-life stock footage and not something taken straight from the game, yet it’s still enough to tease us without spoiling the game’s reveal in a few weeks. This time, the voiceover is as follows: “Let your thoughts drift… Let the bad memories fade… Let peace be upon you.” Again, like we deduced from the first teaser, it appears that the physiatrist character is trying to help a patient cope with a particular traumatic event (such as helping a soldier deal with the horrors of war).

The speed at which the teasers are coming makes us excited for news very soon. While we probably won’t hear anything official until towards the end of the month, hopefully the viral marketing expands from Snapchat into something else such as a secret website, a la GKNOVA6. In other news, Advanced Supply Drops for Advanced Warfare are now available on PlayStation 4, allowing players to purchase a pack in order to receive loot such as a weapon variant. New Character Gear has also been released for the game, including Surfer-styled items and Sledgehammer Games-branded customization. Last of all, the Advanced Warfare Gold Edition is now available on Xbox One, which includes the full game and Havoc DLC at a new low price.
