Quantum Break rumoured to be pushed back to early 2016

Quantum Break may not be released on Xbox One until early next year, according to a Twitter user.

Dae Jim, a writer for the Xbox Elite Team website, has posted that the game is ‘likely’ delayed to early 2016 based on what he’s been hearing. While he works at Microsoft as a Community and Social Media Coordinator for the Dutch division according to his Twitter bio, he has since clarified that his views aren’t official and he doesn’t necessarily have any insider information. With that in mind, take this rumour with a pinch of salt.

A delay for Quantum Break wouldn’t be completely surprising. This year, particularly towards the end of the year, is already looking like a busy schedule for blockbuster games. On top of third-party titles, some of Xbox’s exclusives expected to launch this fall include Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider. A delay would help the game’s polish and an early 2016 launch would help it attract better attention during a time when big releases are minimal.

One of the first Xbox One games announced at the console’s unveiling in May 2013, not much has been revealed about the game since and the marketing is yet to truly get off and kicking. Developed by Remedy Entertainment, the studio behind Alan Wake and Max Payne, Quantum Break uses combined elements of gameplay and digital live-action elements to tell the story of a time travel experiment gone wrong.
