[UPDATED2] Rumour: Black Ops 3 coming November 6th, will have a BETA

A user on Twitter, Motions0, has uploaded a picture of an apparent retailer poster for Black Ops 3.

The poster contains the same key art we’ve seen previously, but there’s two big interesting new reveals. For one, the poster says the game is going to be released on Friday, November 6th. Given the date format, it does appear that this is for the North American release. A rumour earlier today suggested that the game would be released on a Friday, which this seems to confirm. This is quite an unusual change given that games usually launch on Tuesday in NA (sometimes in Europe too), and might be what generates more weekend launches for games in the future ahead.

The other interesting thing worth mentioning is that the poster says pre-orders will guarantee beta access for the game. This is pretty big considering World at War was the last Call of Duty title to receive a public beta. Given the sales and increased protests about avoiding pre-orders (for gaming in general), this might be a way to combat that. In the footnote, it’s revealed that the beta will only be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, and a beta site will be available here soon. It’s not yet known whether last-gen consoles will get the game, but they won’t be receiving the beta. On the poster, PlayStation 4 is also labeled ahead of Xbox One, which might add more credibility rumours that Sony have entered a partnership with Activision.

Of course, as always, treat this as just a rumour. However, it looks very legit and it’s not surprising that retailers will be receiving promotional materials given that pre-orders will likely begin on Monday. The release date will surely be announced on Sunday, and we would expect the pre-order bonuses (such as beta access) to follow not long after. Separate images have also been sent to Kotaku, and another source has stated that retailers will receive the beta access codes from Monday.

The Black Ops 3 reveal is coming this Sunday.
