Slow Down Bull – Launch & Synopsis

Slow Down, Bull is an action collecting game about a stressed out, overachiever bull who just wants to make beautiful art. Help steer Esteban through a beautiful schoolcraft art world to collect as many crafty pieces as you can, but be careful! Every time you steer him, he gets a little more stressed out, and you DON’T want to stress him out! Run and bounce around levels in 5 different areas, avoid knocking over hapless denizens, don’t get caught by Annette the Bullcatcher, and above all, keep your cool! Meet new critter friends to help Esteban achieve his dreams of being the best he can possibly be. Replay levels to improve your scores!

In partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation, 50% of Insomniac’s net proceeds from Slow Down, Bull (at least 30% of the purchase price) will benefit Starlight’s efforts to improve the life and health of kids and families around the world. Developed by independent development studio Insomniac Games, the creators of Ratchet & Clank, Sunset Overdrive, and Spyro the Dragon.

Slow Down, Bull was a small project at Insomniac meant to experiment with open-development. Through a series of live streams, Insomniac shared the progress of the game directly with the community and allowed them to influence development. It marks another milestone in Insomniac’s continued partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation: half the proceeds from the game will be donated to the Foundation.

Synopsis

Thanks to the fellows at Insomniac Games, I got my chance to get a look at Slow Down Bull. Quite far out of my norm of game types, but rather a game about a Stressed out bull named Esteban. Oddly enough was rather relaxing. The storytelling was there enough to get you through but not annoy you, the game mechanics were clearly explained and, most importantly it was even a bit of fun. As for the game itself in terms of performance will work on any hardware really. With 50% of the net proceeds from the game heading to a good charity (Starlight Children’s Foundation), this game I would say is a great pick for a kid of your own. With an easy control scheme and enough gameplay for I’m thinking a few hours and even some replay-ability trying to get full stars/ higher scores all of the levels. For 5.99(USD/EUR) 6.49(CAD) 4.79(GBP), really it’s not a bad deal at all especially with some money going to charity.
