Xbox One wireless controller adapter for PC compatibility coming this year

At a GDC 2015 conference yesterday, Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, revealed a much-requested feature from the gaming community.

Spencer announced that later this year Microsoft will be releasing an adapter that will allow players to use their wireless Xbox One controller to play games on their PC without the need for a USB tether. Specific details on pricing and launch dates have yet to be revealed.

From last June, it was made possible to use an Xbox One controller with a PC, however, a micro-USB cable needed to be connected to the controller and PC. While the Xbox 360 had a wireless adapter earlier on in its cycle, they eventually weren’t easily available and thus a wired controller was the most easiest option available.
