Mark of the Ninja is a single player action adventure stealth platformer game that is available for download on the Xbox 360. The game is developed by Klei and published by Microsoft studios. The game offers players a fun challenge with each new level and a creative story that focuses on your character, a ninja, who has taken responsibility for avenging his clan that has been attacked and is on the brink of extinction. This game will prove to be difficult for impatient players as there are many opportunities to use your ninja skills and equipment in dispatching enemies but in most cases to be successful and complete the tasks contained in each level, stealth and patience are your greatest allies. The game initially has only one difficulty setting but once you complete the entire story more options become available. The graphics, controls and over feel of the game is great and offers a re playable fun factor for beginners and veterans of the genre. There are multiple items, costumes and weapons to be unlocked including flesh eating insects & poison tip madness darts that can be used to create a distraction and help you move through a myriad of enemies or just for fun to see how creative you can be in taking on many enemies at once. The one thing this game is lacking is a co-op mode which would have really pushed this game to perfection but being that its absent leaves me hoping to see one in the sequel. Klei did an amazing job with this stealth platformer. The story is easy to follow and will hook you till the end at which point they decided to throw a great twist that you definitely don’t see coming. The animations and cut scenes were done beautifully and I was really hoping for something a bit more detailed when I completed the last level but understand the need to leave players on edge to see what happens with the main character and his clan after making a very tough choice in a sequel.
