In development since 2009 (where it began as a student project), Depth started out as a stealth game in which you would have to avoid AI controlled sharks while diving for treasure. However, after being put on hiatus by the developers, it was rescued by Digital Confectionary of New Zealand.
Working alongside the original developers they have shifted the focus to an intense PVP battle between sharks and divers.
So basically this game contains 2 things I love… PVP action and FREAKING SHARKS! One of the few creatures on earth to reach a completely undisputed apex predator status, they’re essentially muscle and cartilage propelling a set of jaws that would make a lion hang it’s head in shame. The game includes upgrades for both human divers (in the form of treasure) and sharks (in the forms of ‘evolutions’).
Depth will be released for PC sometime in Nov, and I for one will be keeping a close eye on it!
