Via the latest episode of Sunset TV, Insomniac Games have announced that the final DLC for Sunset Overdrive will be arriving on Xbox One on Wednesday, April 1st. In true Sunset humour, the DLC is titled Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines and it’s only fitting for it to be released on April Fool’s day.
The DLC is set in an all-new massive area, the Fizzco Robotics factory, and will have unique aesthetics in comparison to other areas of the game world, featuring things such as cyber tech influences, floating platforms, and destructible robot transporters. A new addition, the Energy Ball, allows the player to turn into a shielded ball and destroy anything in their path. Featuring new quests, challenges, weapons, amps, traps, Chaos Mode objectives, and the most challenging enemies yet, more details will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Released in December as part of the Season Pass and standalone, the first story expansion, Mystery of the Mooli Rig, took players to an Oil Rig for a host of new quests and Chaos Mode carnage, while also delivering new traversal moves for navigating across water. The Season Pass also includes a Weapon Pack as well as exclusive outfits, traps and amps.
